Parade Saddle it is valued at $9,000.00
Saddlemakers: Knapp and Moss, Chanute,
Kansas
Silver Parade Saddle with: hip drops,
breast collar w/ attachable drops, bridle and reins, and taps.
Best estimate is that it was made
in the 40's.. The saddle, bridle, breast collar are silver. All other attachments
are some other metal, but have the correct design and are original
for this saddle.. The larger silver plates have the same floral pattern
etched as tooled in the leather. There is no missing silver on this saddle..
Russell Moss opened his first shop about
1929, and became well known for his quality workmanship. The maker
mark " Knapp and Moss" is really quite scarce, in fact this
is the only time I have seen it..
References for Moss can be found, but
I have found none on Knapp in that area..
