Butch Cassidy  (the story)
Tom,
This saddle was bought by my father in 1913 at Fort Sill Oklahoma, who was in the army at the time. He was told that the saddle belonged to Butch Cassidy. Of course it was no big deal at that time  to get something that belonged to Butch, but over the years my father always liked to tell the story.   It is too bad he died before the movie came out in the late 60,s.
The saddle is original except for badly rusted sturrups and sheepskin of which I replaced because it was badly worn. I took it to a antique auction in Portland and had a a professional look at it, she estimated the saddle at least 120 years old and had a value of 2800 to 3500 dollars. In the late 50,s I used this saddle in a Sheriffs pose, it was most comfortable, and fits like a glove. The reason for the sale is none of the kids have any interest in it, so I have decided to sell it and enjoy the money. Over the years I have kept it well oiled and cleaned, it comes with a silver studded bridle and a set of spurs.   I would take $3000 or best offer . E0CJones# 5163227
